H4198 question

I acquired an un-opened 8 lb keg of H4198 I was trying to sell it with no luck, so the question is -- who has used it and how does it compare to BLC 2 for 223? Thanks

Depends on the bullet weight, but fairly comparable up to 69 grain projectiles

Hey hey! I haven't used blc2, but H4198 is my go to for 55gr Nosler Varmageddons out of my Stag6h heavy bull barreled AR. Ground squirrel disintegrator! Provides me consistent, accurate results. Its a stick powder so I choose to use a combination of scoop and trickler and not a throw. Ping me and I can look up my loading if you like.

4198 is quite a bit faster in burn rate than BLC-2, so if you're using it you would want to stick with the lighter bullets.

I buy Nosler factory blemished when they pop up on sale. You can set up email alert for the caliber/weight/

Very “similar” to IMR 4198. I used it for plinking 55gr loads with around 18.5grs of powder if I remember correctly. Loved it because you can really maximize loading rounds per pound.

It’s supposed to work well in 7.62x39 and 458 Socom.
