    7mm weatherby resizing

Anyone ever reload it? I've done 223 and 45acp but nothing that's belted. The only thing in my load book just says that the head space goes off the belt. Do not say anything on die depth.

Set your sizing die to just touch the shoulder of your fired case. If you only go by the belt height then you risk over working or undersizing your brass which will lead to chambering issues or early case failures.

This guys makes an interesting sizing die for belted magnums. I have never used one. He posts on these threads from time to time.

Our patented resizing die can reload Winchester, Remington and Weatherby belted magnums up to 20 times, instead of just 2 or 3 times and the top of the die is a chamber width gauge.

You might shoot him an email, seems like a very nice guy.

That die does not bump the shoulder, it collet sizes the body down near the belt where a resizing die can't get to.

As with any bottlenecked case, you should use a shoulder bump gauge to measure the shoulder bump of the brass fired in your rifle. You then set you resizing die to bump the shoulder .002" back. Otherwise you're just guessing at how deep to set your resizing die.

I reload for 300 Weatherby once in a while and use a bump gauge to set the resizing die.

You can use the old method of trying to crush fit it.

          This thread may help you.

              Hi .....

I designed (and patented) the Belted Magnum Collet Resizing Die. So far, there are over 4,000 shooters now using them.

As mentioned by another shooter, it's important to minimize the chamber clearance (at the shoulder). This is especially important with belted magnum handloads. That's why I also designed the Digital Headspace Gauge. It works on ALL different calibers, and it helps you set your FL die height very accurately (within a thousandth of an inch). Read the Shooting & Reloading Tech Tips section on my website.

It explains a whole lot that of topics that are not covered in the reloading manuals. I'll always take the time to help fellow shooters. Most emails get answered withing an hour . . . . whenever possible.
Visit our website at WWW.LARRYWILLIS.COM (It's devoted to helping shooters make the best handloads possible.)
