Gold Dot .380 90gn Max Load

I don't prefer to carry my .380 but I have a bunch of the Gold Dots and occasionally I have a need to tuck something smaller away.

Looking at different data I started at this:

    Gold Dot 90gn HP
    W231 - 3.0gn, 3.2gn
    COL - .965

    3.0 - 857fps, ES62, SD26
    3.2 - 894fps, ES56, SD23

Speer says they are rated at 1040fps and they got a little better at 3.2gn. Since .380 doesn't like to expand at these velocities should I push them harder?

Maybe a different powder? I have Red Dot, Clays, CFE Pistol and Bullseye on hand.

    Any thoughts appreciated

Handloader issue 268 has several 380 acp loads with a 90gr speer gold dot that reached and exceeded 1000 fps from a 2.75" barrel of a ruger lcp.

    Aa2, w231, power pistol, aa7, and unique.

Thier start load for w231 was 3.5gr at oal of .960 for 917fps, with a max of 4gr for 1010 fps

Checking in to that through speer's load data shows it is within their start and max as well, although they loaded to .970 oal.

    Bump it up.
