    Dillon Consistency

Well I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the ability of the Dillon XL650 to make quality, consistent ammo, quickly.

My 9mm blaster ammo is range pickup brass, Wolf SPP, 124gr Xtreme bullet, and 3.5 grains of 700x. I load 500-1k at a time at about 70% of max output speed.

Over the weekend I tried the ammo in my 9mm carbine and here are the results. 34 rounds chrono'd and only had a spread of 44fps and a SD of 10.

Good stuff Joe. What chrono are you running? And was the string shot offhand? Benchrest?

Yeah I'm a pretty consistent guy.

Haha in all seriousness that's pretty darn consistent.

I use a CE Pro Chrono Digital with the USB output to my laptop. I was shooting off a bag.

That is your load talking, and not the machine that loaded it.
What was group size? Did you weight each charge or throw by volume?

To be able to load 600 rounds an hours and to have a SD of 10 shows the consistency of the press, IMHO.

I would say the group size was about 4" at 50yds with a 4MOA dot but like I said I was just blasting not trying for groups.

Why would I weigh each charge on a progressive press? That defeats the purpose, so yes, I was charging by volume.
