    7.62x39 primed steel

I’m looking at getting some primed steel x39 cases and I have .311 124’s and I’m sure I have some powder that will work. I think I even have a set of RCBS dies. But how do you load steel cases?

My understanding, just like brass, but a light chamfer / bevel on the case mouth to avoid damage to the bullet jackets.
The ones I received seem fairly smooth, but if you trim them it might leave a sharp edge burr that would need the chamfer.

Most steel cases are berdan primed however you can convert them. I’ve done this but only to use them as reduced loads for cast 762x54r. Check out American reloading.com them actually have some AAC primed steel cases. They’re pull downs so might have to resize them in the die without the stem

The 7.62X39 steel pull down AAC from American Reloading are boxer primed.

Since they are already primed, they are likely pulldowns.
Neck size them without a decapping rod or expander button.
Neck expand them with a Lyman M die.
          Charge them with powder.
          Seat bullets.
          Crimp bullets.
