So new to reloading, just a quick question, so I have some Sierra 69 gr hpbt mk ,only powder I have at the moment is TAC and Sierra manual has tac for AR but not bolt action? Still ok to use data on bolt action or should I keep looking for different powder? Shooting with a bolt action .223

Load data bolt vs AR .223

I'd run it. The pressures shouldn't be different between bolt action and AR unless they writing this with the idea that an AR is 5.56/62k PSI. Load to mag length or less, start low. That is to say the max pressure for either is the same unless the Sierra manual is specifying one load has a different max pressure than the SAAMMI max pressure (like a 'ruger' only load, etc).Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator. -
If it's safe to use in an AR, then it's safe to use in a bolt gun. I have cartridges that are used in ARs and bolt guns (350 Legend, 6mm ARC) and in all the loading manuals that list bolt gun and gas gun data, the bolt gun maximum load is hotter than the AR data.
Gas loads for 6mm ARC: 6mm-arc-gas-58-105gr-data.pdf
Bolt loads for 6mm ARC: 6mm-arc-bolt.pdf
The bolt gun loads have 1-2 grains higher powder loads for the same bullets.Frank

In the beginning it can be confusing. Read the first few chapters of the manual, it'll give you an idea of what's actually going on so you can make good decisions later on.
Till then, just follow the manual.
And use a chronograph; especially if you're doing non-book things. To paraphrase Barsness "pressure is velocity".Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment
