    Components that are 30+years old

I was recently given a small suitcase full of reloading supplies. Brass, bullets, primers, etc....
It was originally my wife's grandpas gear but he passed away a week after we were married in 1992.
All of the calibers are ones I already load for so that'll be cool but the primers are at least 30-35 years old.

Has anyone used primers that are that old? Maybe I'll load up 10 rounds and do a little test. There are about 1000 primers.

I'm thinking about making up 10 with these old primers and 10 with new primers and see what the chronograph sees and what the target shows.
I'll make up my standard load with 51gr of H4895 and 150gr Barnes ttsx.

Not exactly the same, but I've got ammo WAY older than those primers, and they reliably go bang.

I'm thinking (hoping) that if the primers/powder are kept at ambient temperature in the house it should be no problem.

I've been lucky to get similar primers and they all worked. Visually inspect them and as long as there is no corrosion, they are GTG.

I just loaded some 350 Legend ammunition with this Win 296 powder that I bought in the mid 80's for $11.49/Lbs..

I have recently loaded ammo with primers that come in wood trays instead of plastic trays.
I'm pretty sure those primers are around 75 years old.
                  The ammo shoots just fine.

I had a box of .380 from my father, roughly 40 years old. I finally decided to shoot them. They all went bang.
