9mm powder

A little background info: I'll be using a xl650 WITH a powder check system. I want something that meters very well and burns very clean. I will be making target ammo and shooting it out of a G19/G34 and M&P. I'll be using 115 or 124 jacketed bullets as well. I was thinking something like 231, titegroup, imr700x, but I don't know a ton about them....

What powder do you recommend for what I want...?

I have great luck with 231. It meters great, burns clean (er) than the Unique or TG loads I have worked up. Actually, I only use 231 in my 9mm loads now. I only shoot plated though, don't think that will make a difference though.

4.2 gr of 231 behind a 124gr MG JHP works well for me.

It's silver so very easy to see in each case. I've tried most powders in 9mm and I keep coming back to WST. It beats all the others in light to medium loads. For hot loads I use WSF.

I've been running TiteGroup for over 10 years at 4.0grains with 124gr TC 9mm at 1.155 OAL. It meters well, but is definetly not clean.

4.3gr W231/HP38 works excellent behind a 124gr JHP @ 1.125 COAL. My fav load in my G34.

On my Dillon 650XL I have used 700X and 231 and both are excellent.

If you don't mind spending a little extra, VV-3N37 for max velocity rounds (HD rounds), VV-N320 for target plinking rounds. The best of the best.

5.3gr of Unique under 115gr Montana Gold FMJ for me. I've burned through a crap load of it and absolutely love it. It meters perfectly and is inexpensive. I haven't found it to be that dirty either.

What weight bullet?

I have old manuals with data for WST in 9mm, but most of my data I made for myself.

I've shot WST in 380, 9mm, 38psl, and 45. For light to medium loads it excels. Especially nice in 45.

My favorite WST load in 4.8gr under 147gr plated bullet. I forget what it chrono's at, IIRC around 1100. I can check my books if you're interested.
