    Arm or Ally

Awhile back I might have posted that this site would not fulfil a bulk order of .357 XTPs and did not return email. I was looking to buy some more bulk XTPs and clicked a link to Arm or Ally's restrictions of sales, didn't see this back then.

    From the site:

What Is Allowed In My State?

We enjoy supplying the things you want, and prefer to do it legally.

When navigating the diverse landscape of purchasing firearms, ammunition, and other regulated items across the United States, prospective buyers must recognize the inherent variability in state laws governing such transactions. Each state maintains its independent set of regulations and requirements pertaining to firearms, firearms, and reloading components. Arm or Ally strives to assist buyers by providing information on the most recent laws and regulations relevant to firearm purchases. However, it is paramount for individuals interested in purchasing these items to conduct their own thorough research on the laws applicable in their specific state of residence. Arm or Ally emphasizes the importance of due diligence and encourages prospective buyers to familiarize themselves with local legislation to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Staying informed about the legal framework governing these transactions promotes responsible gun ownership and contributes to communities' overall safety and well-being.

Then they have multiple states listed where you click them to see what is restricted.

They have No Sales currently to CA.

So with the above description its either:

Mis informed on what is allowed to be shipped to CA, or

A big **** you to CA residents because of how other People vote (their business, their prerogative) They have great prices for Bulk Hornady.

They most likely do this because their web store is not well setup to handle the FFL requirements of shipping ammo into CA.
To do so, you have to keep track whether a SKU requires an FFL required or not (for each state) and then the items that require an FFL have a different shipping process to follow than non-FFL items as they have to verify FFL shipping address.
Rather than do that work so make it so they can more easily ship all the non-FFL items, they just block off the states that are more troublesome to sell to.

Easy solution is to bounce the package through a friend.

Maybe. I purchased primers from them a few years ago with no issue, so I was surprised when they declined to send projectiles. Whatever, NEReloding is another awesome site that gives discounts based on order amount and free shipping. Arm or Ally lost out on 1k in sales.

The requirement to collect and remit California sales tax has also turned off a lot of vendors (not just gun related.) Their no CA sales policy may be due to that.

Rogers Sporting Goods quit shipping ammo to California as of June 24th. There will be many more who follow suit. This may be a not so unintended consequence of AB28 (CA 11% tax on ammo/firearms). Rogers Sporting Goods quit shipping ammo to California as of June 24th.

Guys, im talking about components. Not ammo. They refuse to ship components to CA. They seem to be the only place to get xtps in the Hornady Bulk case boxes.

I purchased from them in the past years. One day when I viewed my cart late 2023 it would remove everything from the cart. I emailed them about it, they said bc of CA law about accessories etc they no longer ship to CA. Every single item even ammo cans they wont ship. you cant check out as CA is not on the list to check out with when you have to choose state of residence.

I think I know why that's happening. Isn't there some relatively new provision in California law about restricting importation of "anything that could be used as a projectile in a firearm" or similar? If so, then that's what this vendor may be concerned about, and rightly so, from the vendor's perspective.

Folks, do what I do. Get set up to cast, and then powder-coat your bullets. Yes, it's extra effort, but you will also save some money. Lead for casting still remains available at reasonable prices. For handgun rounds, virtually everything I shoot, I cast. For rifle, it's about half. Turns out the Mosin likes cast bullets. :-)

I guess the 12 other sites I frequent are about to get a visit from the ATF lol. Whatever, I take it as a screw CA for their stupid laws, which I understand.

Well, I obviously will not advocate for breaking any laws, though I will point out one name, known for her work against injustice.
