So I bought a 500 round case of Precision One 200gr FMJ 44spl from Outdoorlimited.com last month, took it to the range last week and experienced 3 squib loads out of the 15 rounds I fired. I've never fired 44spl before and initially I just thought it a little weird a 44 caliber will recoil like a .22lr. After trying ammo from 3 different boxes, they were consistently low recoil and were definitely not at the 825fps marked on the box. The third squib told me to call it a day.
I was wondering it was a powder issue earlier today, so I pulled 20 bullets, recharged with 5grs of Titegroup and hit the range. Magically that worked, even shot a decent group out of my 329pd.
One thing I noticed was some bullets were easier to pull than the rest. The factory powder charges were consistent at 6.8 grains of unknown powder.
I've fired many different calibers from Precision one before and never had a problem until last week. Sent an email to them demanding a refund/exchange last week, but no response yet.
Has anyone had similar experience before? Should I keep pushing for a refund, or just bite the bullet and reload the rest.
