Looking for advice for 140gr 38 special over Trail Boss

Having trouble finding data in my books and online for a cowboy load for the Hornady 140 gr "cowboy Bullets" over Trail Boss. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You won't find any specific data for 140gr bullets, you'll need to extrapolate.
Anywhere from 2.0gr to 3.0gr will work fine.
Plus, TB is about he safest powder out there. As long as you don't compress it you'll never blow up a gun.

You're going to love TB. Clean, accurate, and soft shooting. I don't have my books in front of me, but IIRC, my favorite pet load is 2.2gr under 148gr LCW.
Feels like a 22 out of my 357 revolvers.

Thanks for the info. That is the range I was estimating based on what I've seen for bullet weighs around it.

I also found a PDF on IMRs website where they explain how to find the starting load (70% of max case volume).

      Thanks again.

I use 3.5 gr of Trail Boss under the Lee 140gr SWC (6-cav #90317) and the Lee 150gr RN (6-cav #90326). This load works for me in my Blackhawks and Marlin 1894C. I have been using Trail Boss exclusively for all my cast bullets for several years now.

I got a bottle of TB that I 've been wanting to play with over some 158 RNFP for my 1894c. Need to do that soon.
          The stuff that goes boom.
