    dillon 550 9mm crimp die

I just starting reloading about a month ago. How do i know if my bullets are crimped properly. Some of my first ones had rings in the bullets after i pulled them apart. So i back the die off and so there was no ring after i pulled them apart. Is there a video that anybody knows that can help me.

Do the rounds feed? Can you pull the bullet out by hand?

They feed fine. No i cant pull them out.by hand. Dont know how much is enough crimp. I had a couple of bad federal rounds that jammed while feeding and i pushed the bullet back into the case. I dont want to load a whole bunch and have to go back and re crimp them. But the bad ones were walmart federal ammo not mine.

For 9mm all you want to do is take out the bell.

Let me try and dig up a picture.

SAAMI spec for 9mm case mouth dimension is .380. Set your crimp die to achieve that, and then make sure the round chambers OK.
Don't go much below .380 at all. Shoot for .380-.381
So yes, basically you're just removing the bell.
