Hodgdon shows 19 loads for 160gr. Might have to be close enough. Loads include AA#5 which is mostly what I use for handgun loads.
Pleasanton CA, Citori 725 Trap Max, Benelli M2, SW 686, CZ 75, SP01, and others.

Good morning, Below is a pic of some loads you are asking about and a pic of the loading manual. Its an old Lyman manual, data still works As for OAL, two manuals I have state max. overall length for 9mm is 1.169". OAL is going to depend on the bullet and how it fits in your firearms chamber and magazine. Generally in 9mm I load as long as these parameters will allow.

I started reloading 9mm in 1982 because it was rare caliber before LE went to 9mm in the mid 1980s. So reloaders back then used .38 caliber bullets with, JMHO, poor results. Speer has an exceptional 125 grain LRN and a 125 grain FMJ. In my 40+ years of experience with 9mm the 124 - 125 weight is the gold standard in the majority of 9mm pistols.

I know some people loading 9mm with as heavy a bullet as a 170 RN. Most people shooting a semi-auto limit themselves to 160 or so. IMI actually sold a 158 gr FMJ load some years ago. I prefer the 160 in my 929, but with the cylinder, I can load them a bit longer. My load is 3.4 - 4.2 gr of Herco with a Bear creek 160 Moly coated RN. Primer was Federal #100 and case was Starline. OAL was 1.142" but you might be able to compress herco a tad more to make it short enough for a semi auto.

I really like the 3.6 gr load of Herco. I use it for my 929 using Bear creek 158 - .358's or 160 - .356 Super bullets. I usually use Starline brass. The powder is slow enough that the brass does not stick. Many people have issues with the softer starline brass with faster powders (N310, N320, Titegroup) and heavy bullets. The Herco doesn't seem to have any issues.

What SPECIFIC bullet are you using?'
Whats the OAL of the bullet?
                    What's your barrel length?

I can run you a quickload simulation but the length of the bullet and the shape will play into what loaded cartridge length I will simulate.
If the bullet is roundnose, I would go all the way to 1.169" but if it's a SWC with a flat nose, I would go more like 1.140" to make sure it can feed.
Even better would be to see what specific OAL your barrel can accept with these bullets as you may want to throat the barrel out longer for them if they are roundnose.

Randall, I know this doesn't pertain to the current thread in a sense but can you run a quickload for this please. These are going to be +p rounds although the 45 doesn't need to be as all I need is about 900 to 1k fps:

                      9mm +p
                      RP Brass
                      Win 572
                      124gr XTPs

                      45acp (+p)
                      RP Brass
                      Win 572
                      185gr XTPs
