My first handload was .223, 55grain hornady softpoints, and 26 grains of CFE 223. I primed 10 cases (used about 15 primers doing so-kept smashing them/putting them in sideways), then charged them (which took probably 10 minutes because the hopper wouldn't throw a consistent charge so I had to use my own powder trickler-a .40 case). I went to seat the bullet (without even adjusting the bullet seater and I screwed the seating die down to where there was a cam action) and I had a vision of a pristine round awaiting me after I pressed the round and lowered the ram......came out with a bullet that was shoved most of the way into the neck and a crushed shoulders on the case. I backed the seating die off and crushed about 4 more shoulders before I figured out I didn't know what the hell I was doing, so I watched some youtube vids and finally figured it I needed to back the die waaayyyy out. Then I pressed 150 rounds, used 200 or so primers doing so before I figured out I had the large primer cup on my primer arm so things weren't lining up. 148 of the rounds actually fired, only two FTFs. Haven't had any issues since then.
Fired some awesome groups with the ammo, and enjoy being out in the shed loading, so I am hooked.
