My first handload was .223, 55grain hornady softpoints, and 26 grains of CFE 223. I primed 10 cases (used about 15 primers doing so-kept smashing them/putting them in sideways), then charged them (which took probably 10 minutes because the hopper wouldn't throw a consistent charge so I had to use my own powder trickler-a .40 case). I went to seat the bullet (without even adjusting the bullet seater and I screwed the seating die down to where there was a cam action) and I had a vision of a pristine round awaiting me after I pressed the round and lowered the ram......came out with a bullet that was shoved most of the way into the neck and a crushed shoulders on the case. I backed the seating die off and crushed about 4 more shoulders before I figured out I didn't know what the hell I was doing, so I watched some youtube vids and finally figured it I needed to back the die waaayyyy out. Then I pressed 150 rounds, used 200 or so primers doing so before I figured out I had the large primer cup on my primer arm so things weren't lining up. 148 of the rounds actually fired, only two FTFs. Haven't had any issues since then.
Fired some awesome groups with the ammo, and enjoy being out in the shed loading, so I am hooked.

My first handloads? That's easy as it was only last night. 10 rounds of 10mm. 180gr XTP's over 9.5gr of Blue Dot. Won't get to test them until late next week at the earliest.

My first reloads were Spring of 2010. A bit before my 24th birthday, if I remember it right.

I think I loaded some Sierra 69's with ball powder. They didn't shoot that great, but they made me proud, and it was a start.

Yep, I still have the round. I made a few of them just to test and kept one without shooting it. 180gr XTP bullet over 6.5gr of Longshot powder. The rest of them shot well, but were pretty light shots.

My first rounds were .50 DTC loaded with 220g of H50BMG pushing a 750g A-Max. I recall a bit of sweat on the forehead when pulling the trigger.

30-06 49.5gr Varget and 155gr SMK. I started reloading a few years ago, probably about 6 months after buying my first rifle/firearm. Mossberg 100 ATR from Big 5. I was able to get great groups with it. I did take a few minutes to shoot that first round.

I poured 90 grains of Goex BP FFG down the barrel, patched a 54 cal round ball and rammed it home. Capped it, aimed, and she went boom. And you can hear the big THWACK against the target carboard.

1992 I think, a hot .357 mag loaded with Blue Dot and probably a 125 JHP, I duct taped the Ruger Black Hawk to an upside down stool and used a sting to pull the trigger from around a corner, no joke

Then did you try 120 gr. FFg behind a 430 gr. lubed Maxi-ball fired at a 5" diameter fir tree? THWACK, SNAP Falling tree.
