I bought a big box of something called "Silver Bear" a few years ago and finally tried it recently. 40 rounds all went bang, and went generally in the direction I shot it, but... I think I must have brushed the barrel three times and sent 20 patches down and the gunk still just coming and coming. Don't even know if they make/sell it anymore.

Worst 5.56 Ammo Review, Possibly Ever
Tags: None -
not only that but one accidentally got in with my nickel winchester brass and broke my lee unbreakable decapping rod
now i check with magnet and flashlight cause i did find some berdan brass once but i dint notice the silver one cause i knew i only had 100 nickel ones i fired that day -
I'd rate Silver Bear at the very top... of the bottom of the barrel ammo.
Below it would be;
- Wolf
- Brown Bear
- Tula
Because I picked up 700 rounds of lacquered Wolf as part of a larger deal several years ago, I HAVE my bottom-of-the-barrel/last stand ammo. I've got to blow through 12k of brass-cased ammo to GET to it, however.
If I DIDN'T have that, I'd of probably laid away 500 - 1,000 rounds of Silver Bear as my preferred choice of 'crap' ammo by now.
I don't have any experience with their .223 ammo, but my PTR91 does like their .308. It's dirty, and hardly qualifies as "accurate," but there is WORSE .308 out there (Venezuelan, Chilean, INDIAN!).
Based on my experience with their .308, I'd trust their .223, just ahead of all OTHER crappy .223 offerings.sigpicComment
