    Finally got one stuck

    Well this blows.

So long story short. I resized about 500 .223 cases with the Forester 300 BLK die. I'd taken the deprimer/neck sizer out and ran through them no problem.

I had about 70 300 Blackout (Remington Brand) that I shot up at the range on Sat and decided to just resize them, so I put the deprimer/neck sizer back in.

    Yes, I lubed it up.

This was from the very first one. It's stuck. I mean STUCK.

I'll have to send it back to Forester I guess. I ordered some Lee Pacesetter dies from Midway in the mean time. I've been using Lee on everything and had no problems. This is my first time using Forester, not a great impression on the first one...

    This sucks.
    B.

Would you like to buy the RCBS model?

Comes with free brass. Nice matched set would look good on your mantle or dash.

Add a little 550 and it makes for a fine tactical retreat envisioning accessory.
    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

I think I'll stick with one disaster at a time. If the lee spontaneously combusts, I'll let you know. I'll just start a trophy wall of dead dies....

Should have (or know someone who has) a stuck case remover.

            This puppy is REALLY stuck.
I did a little looking around, and some folks at snipershide and 300BLK forums were raising hell about the Forster getting stuck.

That said, I ordered one now. (case remover)
I'll still probably send this one back and use the Lee in the meantime.

I about freaked though. I've read about this, and then it happens to me.

My girlfriend said I had a look of panic in my eye...

I got a round very stuck just yesterday, and unstuck without too much effort either.
I essentially did this sans metal lathe haha... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idC2HN0X5mA

1.)Place die upside down in press and lock in place (acts as vise)
2.)Drill out entire middle primer cup
3.)Get metal tap, tap the newly drilled brass.
                    4.)Get a appropriate sized bolt.
5.)Use a socket wrench as a "puller body"
                    6.)Tighten bolt, walla! It's out!

I am going to try that with a brass punch today.

I can't do any of the above. The neck resizer/decapping pin screws in and it's so wedged I can unscrew it very much, and if you look close in the picture, the decapping pin sticking through the flash hole. I can loosen it a bit, and back it off some, but not enough to drill.

This one has to go back I fear. I mailed Forster last night and they mailed me back today and said just send it back, they'll get it out, re-polish it and return it ($9 bucks)

In the mean time, I should have my Lee dies here next week to use in the mean time. Hopefully they'll work better than this Forster did.

What lube? Stuck cases are caused by lube issues. Period.

Also, dies need to be cleaned before using and every couple hundred rounds or so.
