lead bullets getting shaved while seating

ive been reloading for my 30-30 for years with gas checked lead bullets, i recently bought a 1000 lead bullets that werent gas checked and i keep shaving them as i seat them. they are sized at .309 which is the same as my previous gas checked bullets, i cant find any adjustment on my seating die
(RCBS)to expand case mouth a little more to stop this. i reload 357 and 44 mag with lead as well but never had an issue since i bell case mouths. is there a way to bell or expand the mouth more on bottleneck cases? please help!

Lee makes a universal expander die that might help. It's just a inverted cone, so you'd need to have your brass all trimmed to the same length or some might bell more than others.

Universal Case Expanding Die Gently flares the case mouth to accept cast bullets without shaving. Works great to prevent damaging the moly and low friction coatings found on today’s high performance jacketed bullets. Includes neck plugs for .22 cal through .45 cal. Works on everything from the .22 Hornet to the largest Ultra Mag. Costs […]

Thr RCBS Cowboy 30-30 die set is designed specifically for loading lead bullets. The second die is an expander die designed to bell the mouth of the case to prevent shaving lead. I believe that it is available separately.

Just run your chamfer tool on the inside of the brass a little more. This should solve the problem.

Could it be the seater plug is screwed in too deep and crimping to early?

Cast bullets for 30-30 WCF are normally .309 to .311. The re-sizing die's expander plug only expands the neck of the cartridge .307, I believe. Shaving lead with standard dies is inevitable. The neck needs to be flared. The previously mentioned RCBS Cowboy expander die or the Lyman M-die are designed specifically for use with cast bullets.
