    300 Win Mag ammo

With the new acquisition of a 700P in 300 Win Mag I am now outside of my 308 comfort zone as far as ammo goes.

Rifle is only be used for target shooting. No plans for comps or any other crazy shenanigans any time soon.

With an intended engagement range of 1000 to 1500 yards, what weight FACTORY ammo should I be looking at? Barrel is a 1:10 twist and measures 26"

Reloading is in my sites, just a few months (I hope) down the road.

EOD is a science of vague assumptions based on debatable data taken from inconclusive experiments with instruments of problematic accuracy by persons of questionable mentality.

For 1K plus I would be looking at 190+ grain match bullets.

This.....nosler makes some fine heads in that class as well as Sierra.

For 300WM I would definitely start reloading unless you have won the lottery.

Seriously, i can load 300 winmag for about the same price i load .30-30, .308, 7.62x54r or any other .30 cal cartridge, which is about $8 a box. Much better than paying $30+ a box
