they turn to saw dust when fired. they are just practice rounds. I wouldn't recomend firing them at anything living since stuff still does come out of the barrel. but they wont really harm anything. -

never heard of hot glue bullets but I don't see why it wouldnt work heh. only heard of the wax ones as a means of actually penetrating paper. the wood ones just destroy themselvs when fired.Comment

well.. they wouldn't kill anyone .. but I think a firearm discharging in city limits is a firearm discharging in city limits reguardless of the amunition being used.. and anyone watching you will report a man firing wildly into the air. how do they know your using wood bullets?Comment

go shooting. get your shells. drill out primer flash hole to 1/8 inch. lube your molds with vegetable oil. a very good coat. heat up the glue gun. fill the mold. let it cool a bit. then pop it out. Make a bunch of them. Dont size the cases. now press them in like a normal bullet. Ok set up some targets and go shooting. Make sure you recover your glue bullets as you just need to replace the primers and load them again.
Now picture this. you just put on a new scope you believe you have it properly bore sighted. you make some glue bullets set up the rifle put it on a bench. then fire a few glue bullets. at close range you will be able to see how well your rifle is bore sighted even before going to the range and waisting good money on ammo.sigpicComment

I am not in the city! I live many miles from civilization. I just thought it would be fun to shoot off a bunch of these things (not actually staight up in the air) but toward the hill behind the house. Lots of rocks so I never shoot that way with real bullets.Comment

oh, then by all means weapons free.

Ok, I read the whole thread yesterday and just had to try it.
40 s&w was the only empty case I had.
I put some hi-temp hot glue in it, even held the case with the hot glue in it upside down while cooling to get a rounded point on it.
Primed it, and put it in my Sig P229. Fired it at 2 cardboard boxes one inside the other.
I'm Hooked!!!
It shot right through 2 layers of cardboard and lodged in the 3rd.
I recovered the gluelit and did it again. Wow that was fun!!
I did get a few questions from the wife as to why I was shooting in the dining room.
I need a mold to make more. I need them to be a little tighter fit in the case.
I don't have a lead casting mold yet (on my list of things to get)
Has anyone made a gluelit mold out of plaster or something?
I think that is what I'm going to have to try next.
