    Anybody Use This Site?

Is this site worth the 29.00?? http://www.loaddata.com/home/index.cfm
I am new to reloading. I shoot 9mm IDPA most of the time. I have Bear Creek 125gr RN bullets. I want to try Unique, 231 and WSF powders. I have CCI 500 primers. Most books and powder sites do not list many lead bullet loads? I have been searching web and cross referencing others loads. So will Loaddata.com have more lead loads to choose from?

I thought about it but I find that I want to develop my own loads that perform best in my guns. Any old reloading manual, powder manufacturer, or bullet manufacturer will give you a good safe start point, you don't need to pay a web site for it.

I love plated. Great balance between performance and price. I would like to be able to cast but I just don't have the time so plated works great for me.

I use Loaddata.com quite often. All the loads listed there are from legit published sources, mostly loading manuals, but a lot of the data comes from loads published in Rifle and Handloader magazines over the years.

Bear Creek sells both Lead and Moly bullets. If you have the moly bullets, you can use the starting load for jacketed bullets.

I would take the published starting load for 124gr FMJ and start 10% less and develop my loads from there.

Personally for me, with the Bear Creek Moly 125gr TC, I use Titegroup, which is a hot fast burning powder.

However, Hodgdon's website list loads for a 125gr LCN and a 125 FMJ. If you want to use a slower powder, they have publish loads for these two bullets for several of their powders, including 231.

They suggest a starting load of 4.4gr of 231 for the FMJ and 3.9gr for the LCN.

If it were me, for the Moly bullets, I'd start at 3.9 and work my way from there.

That's because it's a Wolfe Publications site, Mr. Talon. Or at least I believe it is. I know it's listed on their website. I've given it a lot of thought, but the idea of paying for data that could be free, and probably can be found elsewhere, made me stop.

I don't know about the website, but you can't go wrong with a lyman cast bullet handbook. Most any edition --

I remember when whoever it was started offering discounts to the site when it was first started.

I agree, just about all the information can be had for free on the internet. Why pay for it?

It just looks like a one stop place to get lots of info. But as lpspinner says just drop FMJ load 10% for moly lead. Also whats the deal with the COL?? Lots of sites state COL at 1.169" that is max length? As long as I do not compress my powder I should be ok correct?

Correct 1.169 is the max length.

My Hodgdon manual says the COL is 1.125 for a 125gr LCN which is pretty much what the moly 125gr TC is.

Just make up some loads of various amounts and check for signs of possibly excess pressure.
