    modern ammo??

So I'm talking with a guy at work about reloads.
He says he's looking for a guy to load some rifle cartridges for him so he can shoot some old 30-30's he has.
He says he's afraid modern ammo is too powerful to load in his "antique" rifles.
I'm guessing there's a brand or brands of ammo specifically for this purpose? so can someone enlighten me? so I can get him shooting his old Winchesters sometime this spring?
I would appreciate the help & the education.

Factory ammo will be fine. The factory ammo is loaded so that it is safe in all rifles.
The 30-30 is not like the 30-06 and ammo for the M1Garands where you need a spec type of load or you will damage the M1Garand rifle.
Tell him to just buy a box of 30-30 ammo and have fun. He might want to get several boxes.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

If you're willing to spend the money, Ten-X in Rancho Cucamonga makes ammo for the Cowboy Action shooting crowd. Their loads are light. In fact, here is a quote on their website..."Our cartridges are designed and intended for use in antique and replica firearms"

Of course this all comes at a premium for piece of mind. $27.99 for a 20 round box.
Some guys like their powder like their women, hot, cheap, dirty, that would be TiteGroup. -CocoBolo
