    40 BRASS GLOCKING (help)

Okay so im reloading a bunch of 40 cal brass. Im aware of what glock pistols do with the bulging. So I bought that special die from redding GRX I beleive. However it does not fit my Hornady LNL AP press shellplate. Is there anyother dies out there that will work With the Hornady LNL AP? Please any suggestions would be appreciated.

The normal Lee 40 S&W sizing die have a pretty small mouth (will size the lower part of the brass). They are cheap, should do what you need. You might have to take it easy when bringing the ram/shellplate up to make sure the brass doesn't get crunched on the mouth of the die, but should get the job done.

I'm pretty sure you can't use a GRX bulge buster on a progressive. From what I saw from the demo I saw on youtube you need a single stage.

I know the Lee one can't be used on a progressive. You could probably rig it to work but it wouldn't be worth the trouble. From the looks of the GRX pin, you can't rig it and if you did, I'd be worried about the stress it is putting on the drive hub.

Have you actually tried reloading and shooting any of that brass? If your standard sizing die is setup correctly, you shouldn't have any issues. Other than that, of you're still worried about it, run that GRX/Lee Bulge Buster on a single stage and pre-size all your brass prior to loading it on a progressive. It's another step, and time consuming, but it will give you piece of mind at the very least.

I ran into that same problem. The GRX will not work with a progressive press, because it uses a single shell holder rather than a plate. Even if it did work, I dont think Id want to use it that way because it would put a ton of pressure on one side of the plate. I just bought a el cheapo Lee single stage press for like 30 bucks and make that my bulge buster.

Plus it gave me anther reason to but some more reloading gear....

You want the lee or erw undersizing die. Works great.

I don't know why clown puncher said you cannot use lees on a progressive press.

I shoot mainly glock pistols and I have the undersizing dies for all calibers on my 650.

                They work great.

I think he's talking about the Bulge Buster and the GR-X dies. Those won't work on a Progressive or Turret presses that uses a shellplate. The push rod installs like a shell holder.

However, a U-die will work with Progressives and Turret presses. The U-die just replaces your normal resizing/decapping die.

He said he didn't think you could use a push through die (Lee Bulge Buster, Redding GRX) on a progressive press. He didn't say anything about Lee dies not working on a progressive in general.

Oh! That makes more sense now.

FWIW I just use the standard el-cheapo lee carbide sizing die and I've never had problems. Of course I'm just sticking them right back into a glock and occasionaly a uspc not the tightest of chambers so...

I use standard carbide rcbs dies, never had a problem through several thousand round so far.
