    lead projectile manufacturers

I want to buy some .45 Colt boolits that are about a 12 to 14 hardness...Missouri Bullet offers a 12 hardness and it's about perfect for what I want...just hate to pay the freight to California...anyone know of a local supplier for the softer (12-14 hardness) boolits? I checked at Turners and the guy didn't have a clue about hardness...checked a couple of "local gun shops" and all they wanted to do was argue hardness, etc....not interested...I know that I want a softer bullet for the loads I'm shooting and know they are made...just looking to stay more local if at all possible...thanks

Not sure what hardness the Bear Creeks are, but they are excellent lead moly-bullets.

You can try calling them to find out. They probably won't answer the phone, but will get back to you. 209.874.4322.

There are some at ASC on Ruffin Rd if you just wish to buy a box and try them. Usually in stock are 38, 9, 40 and 45, but the weights are a bit limited sometimes. Prices aren't too bad there either, although you can get them for less. Oh, you also need to pay in cash for some reason, no credit or checks. (I'm guessing that someone there sells them on the side.)

You can ship 3 or 4 boxes of 500 for $13 from Missouri Bullet (depending on bullet weight). It doesn't matter if you mix them up, either.
Get 5% off the bullets with the coupon code "THR-Original" for The High Road; so that will pay for about half of your shipping cost.

Is casting your own something you might consider? If so, I know of a couple of lead sources for about a buck a lb.

Ya know, since you're in San Diego, like me, you may wanna give Redline bullets a try. They are located in the Grantville area, near the Home Depot of off Fairmount, which is off Mission Gorge Rd, near Interstate 8. You would turn left coming of 8 where the intersection 'wyes-off' of mission Gorge. There used to be a Toyota dealership there.

Redline is located right behind a Porche repair shop on the east side of the street (opposite the Home Depot and about 100 yards beyond).

Alonso is a really good guy to talk to and a good source of bullet information. Redline bullets are well made too.
