    Reloading addict?

Man....I just started and now I find myself wanting to make ammo for firearms I don't even own- just for the pure pleasure of reloading/making it....

Anyone ever have this "problem"? .....

The 223 is really calling to me- maybe it will force me to complete the build I have been putting off!

yes i'm the worst brass shrounger hoarder the worst part of it is when i dont have enough brass to match my bullets or vice versa or when i have extra primers remaining like being short 5 cases or having 3 cases left

or when i have to choose should i use these primers with 223 or 30 carbine

what really bugs me is the bear creek bullets always have a couple extra and i often mush a primer every 300-500 so i have a bag of about 30 that i know i'll probably never use cause i buy enough primers to match the amount of bullets

what is really bad is when i shoot my 30 carbine just so i can have some brass to reload with these suprlus bullets i got for a good deal

Just buy primers 50,000 at a time so you get used to having them left over and it ddoesn't bother you anymore. I have dozens of partially used boxes of bullets, you can use them for trying in new guns/loads.

It gets really bad when you have stacks of dies for calibers you don't own, but may want in the future. Or when you count how much lead you have (for cast bullets) in tons and not pounds...

guilty as charged. Now im friggen reloading 12 guage and 410 shotgun. then i am casting for my brother in law and my neighbors 9mm. Its like i dont even have a 9mm. But you just love to make the ammo. Then and only if you get really hooked to reloading. you have to take it a step further.

            ready

If you like reloading you will love this. its tow things in one.

            Black powder shooting.
            PROS:

you can still order a black powder rifle or handgun from places like cabelas for as low as 150.00 and have it delivered to your door no ffl. or dros.

new modern technology has made it so easy to use and clean.

New bullets have made the shooting awesome.

            Cons:

Still a little slow to load on single shots

Ok example. I purchased a CVA 209 Buckhorn from Cabelas. Had it delivered with a starting kit for 135.00. Its a 50 caliber rifle.

If your new on Black powder. here you go. you pull the bolt back. It looks like a bolt action rifle. Pour in the powder down the barrel. Or pyrodex pellets. Then push in a bullet. Ram it down with the rod all the way. Set up your rifle. Then you insert a Shotgun primer # 209 in the bolt. Now aim and fire. Its very powerfull very strong. Kinda like reloading a shell at the range and shooting it.

            NOW

black powder pistol. You can load six rounds takes about 2 minutes. That is pour the powder. Then load the bullet and lube up the cylinders. Then put the primers on. then your ready to shoot.

            Its so much fun.

Where else can you buy a 50 CAL rifle and shoot it for less than 200.00. I say 200. because once i recieved the gun i had to get the powder and accessories. I went top grade then bought a lot more bullets and a mold different lubes. i bought it all. so i have around 300.00 into it. but i have 5 different types of bullets. Probably around 300 rounds ready to go. and two types of powders.

I found a big pile of 9mm bullets that I bought at an estate sale type of thing for cheap even after I declared I'd only be reloading 45 and expensive revolver calibers. what the hell..I only had to spend $60 for a new set of dies, $35 for the small case plate for the shell feeder and a conversion kit...(had the tool heads).

good thing because now 9mm is creeping up in price too. I do feel like a bum scrounging for brass like they are aluminum cans though..hmm off to Petco to make a brass catcher out of a fish net...

.25 acp to 50BMG. .410 to 12g. .32 cal to .54 cal and 12g BP. Then there's mortars and cannons. Yea, I have it bad.

Yep and i just loaded my first paper loads.

Yep you take orange zig zags.
Wrap around a sharpie. lick the paper gum part to make a tube. then roll crimp about 1/2inch. then make more.

after the 3rd one. Take the first. now put a 44 cal ball in it. all the way down.
do this to all of them.

Now measure your powder. I use 20 grains of triple 777 black powder. pour it in

Then wet the end a very little lick. And roll it up Now cut the ends.

I made 18 of them. When i go to the range i place them in my revolver powder down. Then put the percussion cap on
and i have 6 rounds ready to go.
here is a link on the high road.

What's bad is sitting at the bench and reloading just to make a bunch of trial rounds. Then having to go to the range and shoot them just to get the empty cases back.

thats just as bad a buying new ammo when its on sale. Then hurrying up to go to the range on your next day off so you can shoot them. So you have the empties to work on.

Guilty on that one. oh ya very very guilty. my problem is when you start running low on shells. its a balance. you buy to much powder knowing you could be close to being out of the legal limits. So you go shooting and shoot as much as you can . So you can start using as much powder as you can to be back in a safe legal area.

Guilty a few times. Now my wife wont let me keep more than 10lbs of smokeless powder and 3 pounds of black powder. Im limited. a couple of weeks ago i had 11 bottles. yep. had to go shooting and unload a lot of shells. So i can make it back down to 10lbs again. Now thats on the 1lbs bottles of powder. So ya i have a lot of 1lbs cans. right now 10 1/2 lbs of smokeless and 3lbs of black
