Funny, I have a couple that look just like that.

Well it's nice to know I'm in the 'club' now.

I'm glad it was something like this. I haven't been handloading very long at all, and already got a bit complacent, so it's a good reminder for myself to check, check and double check everything.

Same thing happens when I put a .204 Ruger shell in the .223 die.

Me thinks I have 5 or 6 of those in my dead brass bucket.

I just went out and torched off 4 lbs. of powder I contaminated dumping some W296 from my powder measure back into a 1/2 filled jug ~4 lbs. of 4064 just because the jugs were next to each other and I put the one away that I thought was W296....Looked under the bench this morning and the 296 was there but the 4064 was in the storage cabinet.....Me thinks my boo boo was kinda expensive

On a lighter note, 4 lbs of powder makes a very bright flame and turns sand into glass.

Yup, set the seating die to low.

Broke the 'distracted' rule, and seated it against the shell holder instead of an actual shell.

              I feel pretty dumb.
              They`ll buff right out!

At least you didn't have to spend the last 3 hours unloading 9mm because my grampa loaded years ago but didn't check the powder b4 putting them together squibed one round but noticed the sound difference and stopped b4 the next round and was able to remove the bullet but I replaced the barrel anyway
