I got a G43, it shoots 8mm Mauser and I'm not sure what bullet weight and load pressure it can handle. Anyone know of a date sheet on this gun?

You can go here and learn about the 7.92X57 Mauser round.
In 1934 Germany adopted the s.S. Patrone using a 197 gr. bullet at a velocity of 2550 F.P.S. Your G 43 was designed for this ammo. The 1934 s.S. Patrone is a stout load.
You're not going to find s.S. 197 gr. bullets to load so, you will have to use a currently manufactured substitute.
Nosler makes a 8MM 200 gr. ballistic tip. That's probably the closest you'll find to the original 197 weight. Launch it with a medium burning powder at about 2500 F.P.S. and you'll be close to what the original ballistics was.
You'll also find that any U.S. manufactured 8xMM Mauser ammunition is purposefully loaded to low pressures to accommodate for old lower quality surplus rifles. This ammo may not function properly in your gas operated
G 43.
You can also go to G 43 forum and get a good education there. http://gk43forum.com/forum/main.phpComment

If these bullets are available as a component, that's as close as you can get.
If you can find some Privi Partisan 8X57MM l/S factory loads with the 198 FMJ, they should work fine in your G43, if you don't want to reload.
Any of the US commercial Federal, Remington, Winchester 8MM will be under loaded. It is safe to fire in your rifle, but it may not cycle properly.
European 8X57 Mauser ammo is loaded to full power specs.Comment

Also, check out Widener's. They have some Privi manufactured "Sniper" 8mm at a very good price. I have shot these in my Turk Mauser and they are very accurate. The only issue is they are most likely corrosive ammo but that should scare anybody that routinely takes care of their guns (and lives in California with low humidity).http://wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?i...dir=18|830|854Comment
