    .45 Re-loads

I'm going to try my first batch of re-loads with a friend and wanted to know about Powder, Primers and bullets, Where can I get the supplies at a reasonable price? This is my first time and want to learn for future reloads.

What kind of powder? Are primers all the same? What is a reasonable price for each supply? What web-site do you go to for supplies?
Any info would help me out.

    Thanks.

Bullseye & Green Dot are my go to powders for .45ACP.

Berry's or Xtreme plated 230gr RN. I also like 200gr SWC but I know my guns will run with 'em.

Any standard Large Pistol Primers. Check your brass, tho. Lots of Small Pistol Primer brass going around these days.

I get my stuff at Turners. Lots of online places to get supplies too. Google is your friend.

Go get a reloading book or three before you do anything.

They will have recipes you can use. Or go to a reloading class. It is not rocket science but it is dangerous.

Powder is up to you, I would recommend a powder that will fill the case.

Primers are not all the same. There are different brands as well as different sizes and magnum or standard.

Reasonable to you and everybody else is different.

      Many different ones.

I am not trying to sound like a d*ck but.... locally if someone has a lb of powder I want???? I might pay $35-$40 If I am buying my normal stuff I get it in bulk in 8lb kegs and 5k primers or more this becomes alot cheaper per round but gets expensive up front. For example I may place an order at graffs for say $750, Then days later order bullets for another $700 from somewhere else..... So I end up into it for $1500 expensive right? well not really... Out of all that I will make I dunno 10,000 rounds in 5-8 diferent calibers.

I really do not know how many rounds exactly that imaginary order would make. It is an example and I am assuming there are alot of guys like me who buy lots in bulk and not with the intention of making 4k of this and 2k of that etc....

Get a book and read it. You are asking questions, which is good, but if you are asking questions that you should already know the answers to if you are going to be successful in keeping your fingers.

I get most of my supplies online from Midway. I get powder and primers at local stores or gun shows. I use Winchester Large pistol primers myself and Winchester 231 powder for most of my loads. As far as bullets, I go for Hornady XTP's for hollowpoints and usually 230 grain Raineer and Berrys plated bullets for the range.
