Whats the going rate for buying lead per pound? You know like sheets of lead and not premade lead bullets.

if you look on ebay you can get it for a $1.00 per pound sometimes more or less just need to check

Nothing to $2/lb depending on exactly what type of lead and wear you find it.

Hmmm ok. I ask because my boss has about 1 ton of lead and he was going to take it to a recycling center but i thought maybe he can get more from people who reload. The lead is from an xray room we just demolished so im not sure on the type/quality of the lead. Weve got massive sheets of it and it weighs about 4pounds per square foot so its pretty thick.

Yeah its prett soft. Were not sure how much theyll give us. We literally just finished doing the demo and were on our way back home to dump the drywall trash right now. Were taking the lead tomorrow so we wont know until then. Were located in Anaheim so in the mean time maybe someone local knows how much they buy it for?

People usually buy clean ingots of lead for $1 per pound delivered. So, the actual price of the lead ingot would be about $0.80 per pound, face to face.

Since your lead is in raw form, it would bring a lower price due to the cost of fuel needed to smelt it down. I guess the sale price should depend on what the scrap yards are paying. Another issue will be if you are willing to ship / deliver or if people need to go pick it up.

cut into 1 foot squares and fold pound it into a USPS flat rate box size and sell for $1.00 per lb on ebay or go over to cast boolits web site a post a for sale you will sell all of it. If you have 1,000 lbs with some work will get $1,000 for it scrap yard will give at most half of that.

I doubt that they will pay more than .30 a # for scrap.To bad it is in so.cal. I would buy it all for .50 if it was local.

If you end up getting it and wanting to process it into approx 1 lb ingots, I'm sure we could work something out.

You'll easily sell the whole ton at $1/lb either here or on castboolits. Lead sellers on www.castboolits.com ship around 60-65 pounds per flat rate box.

Nope. El Jefe hasnt had anytime to decide on what to do with it yet. I'll try and take some pictures of them the next chance I get. I seriously doubt he's going to smelt it down. More than likely he'll just sell it as is and we'll cut it into 1 pound squares. I'll keep this thread updated when I obtain more info.
