    Reloading bench for 1br apartment

Some people recommended this bench, but it's $43 to ship!

Does anyone have any suggestions for reloading benches around that size? I live in a 1br apartment in San Diego. I really want to get my xl650 rolling so I need a bench

Go to Sears, there are some small workbenches there.

Don't know if it's too big, but it's a lot cheaper, especially if you use the 20% off coupon in the NRA magazine.

You remember those printer stands that were used for dot-matrix bottom-feed printers? I tried clamping a press to one of those, and it worked surprisingly well. Typically these printer stands have wheels/casters, so you can roll it out when you need it, and roll it back in when you're done.

            Easy Bench

Here is an easy bench. Remember the Black and Decker Workmate?

I bought one at a garage sale for $10 and I have seen them on Craigslist. They will fold flat and go under a bed. Scrounge up a piece of 3/4" plywood and screw a 2x4 down the middle. Clamp the 2x4 in the Workmate with the plywood flat on the Workmate. Instant reloading bench. You can make several tops for different jobs. With no gear on them they all go under the bed. If you leave your press mounted the top will store in a closet. I used this until I bought a house.
You do not have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you!

Good idea, but how tall is that bench?
Also is it sturdy enough to be cranking away on my xl650 on? I reload full length rifle rounds on the xl650 with case feeder.

This is what I do: a piece of wood and two clamps, and a case of ammo as counterweight on the other end.

if your appartment is small go with a system like BAGunner uses, bolt your press to a sturdy piece of wood, then G clamp that to your kitcken table, it also looks cool when guests come and you are doing bloke things in the traditional feminine area of the house!

Nothing wrong with a Lee hand press, either. I have one. That way, I can load for my Makarov while watching TV...

Check craigslist for free, unwanted cabinet/tables, cant beat free, and dress it up any way you like after.

I checked this bench out at my local harbor freight store and I think its not very stable..

I ended up buying this one..

I'm really impressed by the quality and its very sturdy..
I was able to buy it at around 132.00 out the door when they had a sale.

I was able to put it together rather quickly and painless..

I'm having a tough time drilling into it..lol

I just started using this table and its working pretty well. I can move it anywhere. I can even reload out side if I need to..

I am using an old dresser. I took out the bottom two drawers (they were broken) and put piece of 3/4" plywood on the top with a 6" overhang for the press to mount to. I then bolted it to the wall in a corner. It works well enough for me, I would love to have a large bench but this will do for now. I have two drawers and the top work surface is approximately 18"x36".

I use this for my press in my 1br, I just pull out the components and put them on my computer table. It saves more space and keeps everything from shaking around when using the press.
