Requesting help/assistance in reloading (San Diego)

Hi, I am seriously thinking about reloading my own ammunition, however, I am the type of nucklehead that needs hands on training. I am located in Chula Vista. Anyone nearby that is willing to teach me would really be appreciated. I am free every weekend and every night. I am looking at reloading 9mm, .45, .223 and .308. Or if there is a gun store in the San Diego county that does hands on training on reloading. I am also a USN Active Duty Chief. Thanks to all in advance for taking time in reading this post.

So are you saying that your instructor would have to be someone who speaks slowly and doesn't use big words?

I had a 45 minute run down when I was sold my dillon 650. Then I read a good ways through a reloading manual and stumbled along for about a month until things got rolling along a little better.

It helps to see a couple of different loads put together- really saves time as it is physical reinforcement to the book learning.

I'm up in North Co..start saving your brass if you haven't already.

Chief, Which part of CV do you live? I'm in 91915 and could help you on reloading.

El Cajon Gun Exchange can help you out, but I think it might be only if you buy there equipment. They have a corner of the store dedicated to reloading.

El Cajon Gun Exchange helped me out a little when selecting equipment, but they have an axe to grind with Lee equipment, warranted or not. Socal guns has one guy who reloads a bit, and has given me good advice. American Shooting Center also has a guy or two who is knowledgeable about it, though none of them offer classes that I know of. Still, between those fine people, lots of reading here and a few other boards (THR, castboolits.gunloads.com), I have successfully loaded a couple hundred rounds of ammo. I'm getting started myself, but it's not really that complicated for the calibers you are talking about. You might even find yourself getting into casting (but you'd better stay away from my lead sources!!! )
