Question for the guy's using the WFT. Are you getting consistent length's? Out of 20 shells 5 were short by about .020, the rest varied about +/-.002 . These were all the same head stamp. Trimming was done after cleaning.

So all of these were re-sized, cleaned and trimmed at the same time? I only find differences like above when I have different head stamps. If they were re-sized at different times there could be slight differences in the setup of the sizer then and now. -
It's probably cause by sizing stage. Do you have a headspace gauge?
I would size 10 pieces of brass. Make sure they all have the same headspace measurement. Then trim and compare the OAL case length.
from Giruaud: Also trims case based on headspace:
Next, check your overall length of the
trimmed case with a caliper. I will set
the length fairly close, but it will really
depend on how you size your brass.
Since the case trimmer locates each
case by the case shoulder, if your
headspace dimensions on the resized
brass are not consistent, then the
case can't be trimmed to a uniform
dimension.Last edited by gau17; 02-29-2012, 11:07 AM.Semper Fi

All checked after chamfer/debur?Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.
