Chrono questions

Guys,
I want to pick up a chrono to add to my reloading equipment and wanted to get some opinions first. I'm currently out on Midway and there's a number of options to choose from and I'm wondering if all of the bells and whistles that some of these offer are really necessary. I know I will need basic functions like SD and ES but what else should I really be looking for in a chrono.
Any opinions on one over the other??

Years ago, I used to use a Chronograph, made by Oehler. Loved it, but sure would of liked to have a printer with it.

Some of the people out there like the Chrony's. I have a buddy that uses one, and due to it's size, it is very convient to always have with you. (which is why, I no longer use my old Oehler). Plus - size, ease of use, price. Minus - sky screens built into unit. If you're off just a little, your buying a new Chrony. Readout is down range on unit.

I am torn about getting a new unit.

What I would look for is something with the sky screens down range, the ability to print, show high/low (plus each individual) and standard deviation. Most of the Chronographs on the market do these tasks. Check to see how much replacement sky screens cost. You will be replacing them.

I will be receiving a Shooting Chrony Beta Master soon.

The electronics are all housed in a separate unit from the sensor housing and connect with a phone cord to the housing, which folds up in to a compact package for easy carrying or storage. The housing stays downrange while the electronics box with LCD display sits on the bench. If you somehow shoot through both sensors, it's ~$50 to replace the housing. There is also a printer and PC interface available.

I'll post a review when I get it.

A printer is nice as you can staple the printout to your load sheets ad have everything organized in one place. It makes it alot easier to keep track of each load's performance.

Oehler is the best, IMO. Only problem is you have to get it used and they are commanding a premium. Oehler still sells parts, just not new/complete systems.

I have a 35P and love it.

Don't forget the CED chronograph...they have great customer service and a non BS policy...
