    Cast Boolits

    I'm loading cast Boolits 8mm Mauser .323 175gr lee cast gas check sized and lubed I want to know how deep to set the boolit, what is the minimum length or how deep to set them I'm new and the cast turned out great thanks to the people on this site.

    I am not aquainted with your Lee boolit, but it is common prctice to seat to the crimping groove, if the bullet has one, or on the wide seating band.
    Again, depending on boolit, it can be seated to almost touch the lands if it does not exceed max overall length.
    As in most reloading situations there are exceptions.
    Perhaps the lee loading data provides this info?

      I've never loaded this round, but according to the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4th ed., it says for the Lee 175gr (C324-175-1R) the OAL is 2.830".

        Just curious...why do you call them "Boolits"?

          Seat your boolits out as far as possible. You want them to be just touching the rifling.
