Anyone use a trimmer / 3 in 1 cutter?

Looking to trim .223 and maybe some handgun brass if it ever needs it.

If you only need to trim one size, I would go w/ the World's Finest Trimmer. Chamfer & Debur w/ a cordless drill.

That manual trimming is very tedious. Been There, Done that.

I used to use the Forster 3 in 1. Worked pretty good most of the time. I was getting inconsistent trim lengths so stopped using it.

I now use the WFT. It does NOT chamfer or deburr the case though.

I have the RCBS 3-way cutters for my .30, 6.5 and .22 calibers. Definitely a must-have if you trim your brass regularly. I just wish they make them for pistol calibers.

I had the electric RCBS trimmer with the three way cutters. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.....Then I bought the Giraud trimmer and I knew I was in heaven

Trimming is a must for bottle-neck rifle cartridges as case necks grow in length after re-sizing. It does not need to be done for straight-wall pistol cases because they do not grow with re-sizing. End of story.

BTW, any trimmer that provides consistent case length and bevels case mouths is typically just fine. Some are faster and easier and some better in fine points, but the one you are looking at is a very good starter tool for the price.

After much googling and asking around this is what I am hearing most.

I have been reading a-lot of good things about the Wilson trimmer so I might give it a shot instead.

I use the Forster 3-in-1 with power drill connection and I DO get consistent lengths. I've noticed, however, that inconsistency can come by not making sure the case is all the way back into the collet where the case rim goes. The way I do it is place the neck onto the trimmer first, push it all the way to the back, tighten then trim. I just did this for 1k cases and it took about 6 hours, give or take a few.

i just got one this weekend from Phillips, couldn't wait to get home and use it--best tool i have ever bought- i blew thru 1k cases in no time- well maybe an hour and half.

i did and do use the RCBS case prep center and power trimmer. but now trimming, chamfering, and deburring all in 1 step --huge time saver.

i still use the prep center to clean the primer seat.

but the 3 in 1 highly reccommend--just make sure to adjust right.
