Ammo Cleaning
I recently purchase some surplus ammo (live not brass) and needs to be cleaned up before it can be fired....any suggestions?

You can use a rag damp with a solvent like acetone (don't let the liquid acetone puddle around the primers or the case mouth). Or you can use a little soap and water (yes a little, same puddling admonition applies) and one of the less aggressive grades of scotch pad. If you plan on buying more of that ammo or maybe start reloading in the future a tumbler is a worthwhile investment.
Is there a Calgunner that reloads local to you? Using walnut & Nu Finish it shouldn't take more than a sixpack to get it clean.

@ DennisCA: I bought 16lbs of the .223 from the same seller. It was sold in 4 separate bags. It took me about 4 television shows to finish cleaning them. Lengthy process, but in front of the TV, it was less tedious. Also, going through it and cleaning by hand, you can pick out dented cases that clearly shouldn't be fired. I got about 620 rounds out of the bags, and had 580 that looked good to shoot. Still a great deal.
