Expansion performance of X-treme's hollow points?

I've been trying to find an answer to this question, but I haven't been successful.

I'm looking at buying a big order of .40 ammo with X-treme hollow points from Bullet_man, but I want to be sure the hollow points are good before purchasing. I bought some BVAC reloads with hollow points only to find out that the hollow points they used don't expand. I don't want to do that again.

    Thanks.

I would think that if you are going to NEED the bullets to expand you might want to splurge and spend the big bucks on bullets that are know to perform well. If it is just for plinking then who cares?

Point taken, but if $40 more means that my target ammo can double as decent defense ammo if SHTF, I'll spend it.

Otherwise I'll just go for the regular target ammo.

Go for the target ammo and save the money so you can buy more of it.

I was of the opinion that if your target ammo ballistically matches the defense ammo you are GTG. Upon further reasoning, I doubt that it will matter. What's important is your capability to point and shoot it reliably. In a true SD situation, you will probably be so pumped up with adrenaline that you won't notice the difference of a hotter load in your gun, what will matter is that you be able to draw, aim and fire with a gun you are comfortable using.
