Dillon 550, Lee Loadmaster or Hornady LNL

Ok, customer service and how long each will last and cost aside. If you have used more than one of these which one do you prefer for ease of use. I keep hearing the dillon is the best but if you take out the above and just go by simplicity and ease of use which one comes out on top and why. Right now I'm using a Lee Loadmaster and it seems like I cant load more than 10 bullets without having to fiddle or adjust something.

I like the 650 better because it is auto-indexing. I loaded 1500 rounds of .45acp yesterday on my Dillon and only had one primer misfeed. Dillon is also great with parts and accessories. I'm a happy customer.

I have a Load Master and can say I too had to fiddle with it constantly. Biggest problem mine had was the aut index of the shell plate. That would never work right, it would bind and cause me all sorts of headaches. I really wish it would work because up to that point I always bought LEE presses and dies.

I went ahead and ordered from Dillon an XL650 last year some time. Boy is that initial cost a hard one to swallow! But, I can say I am glad that I have. I haveI been loading pistol cartridges on it so far and have not had a single issue with it. I still use LEE dies because they are great dies.

The only thing I dont care about the XL650 ( and their other presses) is the primer pick up tubes. The LEE system for loading primers is a lot faster and easier. But, it is something that I have grown used to and its nt even an issue anymore.

You might want to take a look at "The Loadmaster Zone" over at www.loadmastervideos.net. They show you how to make your Loadmaster run smoothly and trouble-free.

All progressive presses require some amount of fiddling here and there. Personally, I use a couple of Lee's Pro 1000 presses for my handgun rounds. These are not complicated presses and do a good job, with minimal fiddling.

I have a loadmaster and just got a dillon 550b, I can definately say the 550 is easier to set up and maintain. the primer system is far superior the only down side is manual index as to the automatic index of the loadmaster.

Dillon. I regret selling my extra 550 earlier today. What a fine machine.

I'll say Dillon...xl650 well worth the up front price. I'm considering putting a Hornady bullet feeder on mine. I think that would be the ultimate in reloaders then.

A co worker has the LNL AP and a lee 1000. The 1000 works like a dream, but I think He's had it forever and worked and polished it in.His LNL AP is like others have stated in this forum...troublesome.

I have both. 550 and LNL. I prefer to use the LNL for the auto advance, case feeder and smooth flow of making ammo.

I love my Dillon RL 550 B, it's perfect! Sure it doesn't have all the bells n whistles, but it is a damn good item. Bullet and case feeders are far from necessary for the at home personal reloader but you can add A pistol case feeder to the 550. The only thing I do wish it had was the auto indexing but hey I can definetly live without it. Only thing I'd reccomend is the strong mount, it really gives it a clean look and gives excellent leverage not to mention nothing hangs off the edge of your bench so nothing's in the way when walking by.
