    Does anyone reload 25 acp?

    Looking at reloading 25 ACP. Looks like we'd be saving pennies over factory ammo, that said,

    Does anybody reload .25 ACP?

        I would give it a try. If you have the reloading equipment and the brass it would be cheap.

        Primer = $0.035
        Powder = $0.004
        bullet = $0.16(factory) $0.01(if you cast your own lead bullets)
        total = $0.199 or $0.0499(cast bullet)

        Primers are about $3.50 per 100, Powder is about $20 per pound, 7000grains per pound and you need about 1.5 grains per bullet. Bullets are about $16 per hundred. Now if you could cast lead bullets it would be about $0.05 per round total.

        That makes it about $0.20 each for reloads with factory bullet or about $0.05 for cast bullet.

          the 25 acp lends itself to lead bullets since it is such a low velocity round anyway.. it's interesting to make up 50 gr pills.. and you beter have small fingers or I could see a lot of pinching going on..

            There is no way I could handle it .... its just so dog gone tiny, and my ham-fisted hands certainly wouldn't help... If you do try it.. let us know how it went !

              Fat fingers and little savings means .38 special is about as small as I go. I don't enjoy 9mm, but I'll do it. .25 acp...no way.

                There's a thread or two over at castboolits.com about the .25acp. I've been thinking of reloading for this too because the cost of ammo is pretty high considering how little powder and lead are actually used per round.

                The consensus seems to be, it can be done, but it's a PITA. It seemed to me most people used a trickler to measure their charges and did most of their loading on a single stage press.

                    I've gone as far as 32 ACP, but not 25 ACP. I know for a fact that you can run .32 cases through a Dillon 550B and it will reliably drop 2.0gr charges of W-231 if you use their extra-small powder bushing.

                      25 costs as much as 45 acp but i enjoy shooting 45 acp the little pop and dinky guns .25acp are designed its not really a target or plinking gun its pretty much a dedicated emergency self defense gun

                      that being the case i'll take factory ammo

                        I don't shoot my .25 anymore, but if I find some dies for cheap, I'd give it a shot.

                            The only reason I'm interested is because I have access to a couple old Mauser 1910's and I went to buy ammo to try 'em out the 25 acp wasn't reAdily available and when I did find it it was more than double what I pay when I buy factory 9mm ammo. I just started reloading and I'm using a lee hand press 90180 single stage. I have no intention of loading mass quanitities but it would be nice not to spend $40/50 on such a small round...
