Reloading is a time consuming process...

    And I love it!

just finished my first "large" batch of .45

I knocked out 300 rounds in 3 hours using a lee single stage anniversary kit and if I had more clean brass I wouldn't have stopped. I did 200 grain LSWC with 5.0 grains of HP-38 and a Winchester lpp.

Better put a heater and AC in the garage. I foresee myself spending ALOT of time in there from now on.

You sound like you're ready to move up to a turret press or a progressive press!!

I find the time spent therapeutic in a way.

I am in the process of loading 2K of 223, 1K of 204ruger and 500 rounds of 6mm Rem for a squirrel shooting trip. Using my trusty RCBS Rockchucker for sizing and RCBS Jr for seating. I am batch processing all of it. I have time as the shoot will be in April. Nice way to spend a few hours during the day.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

That is exactly how I started reloading! My gf bought me a lee pro 1000 for xmas two years ago but I wanted to learn on a single stage press. I bought the breech kit and all of the other stuff like calipers, tumbler, ect and figured I would use the single stage later for rifle loads. After about 4 months I setup the progressive press and have been in love ever since lol. Now I use the single stage for reloading .223 since I don't shoot it as much as my pistols. Welcome to the addiction

I load all mine one at time, I'm in no hurry, if I was I would just buy the ammo. Besides what else is there to do when it's raining or just bad weather?

I don't mind the time it takes. Plus I'm still very new. I know I can probably do better than 100/hour later on.

I hate to hijack a thread, but I'd like to know about where you're going to shoot at 3500 squirrels????????

That's what the spare bedroom is for.

Northern Ca for a week or more of shooting then Wy for PD's. Yes I do miss a few, especially over 200yards with my 223 Encore pistol. Pretty good shot with the 223 Rem varmit rifle and the 204Rger in a Savage. The standard barrel 6mm Rem in a tang safety ruger heats up fast so it does not get as much use. There are many targets. I hate to run out of ammo and have to cut the trip short.

That is where I do all my reloading---Spare Bedroom which is now Computer, gun safes and reloading room. Half of the 2 car garage is for ammo, brass, bullets, dies, extra trimmer, case cleaner stuff, gun cleaning stuff, gun cases(hard and soft) target holders, chrono and other shooting/hunting stuff.

where I *think* divernhunter is going for squirrels is where I go and is a target rich environment (the ground moves). Spend a week there and you'll need 3500 rounds easy. Last time I was where he's probably going I rounded up around 175 in 4 hours without going outside 200yrds. I only brought 300 rounds that day and winds were pretty heavy. He's right to bring 3500 rounds.

If it's where I think it is, I'd pack a good 22lr for the closer shots and for the Wyoming trip, the 17HMR is a pretty popular round. And, they both pack smaller, lighter and quieter
