Thinking about reloading 45 acp on a RL-550b

Hope this is the place to ask this! Looking for a Dillon RL-550b for 45 acp. I do not shoot much and would like to improve that. Want to learn one pistol (1911) well, no need to reload for many. Maybe someday .357 Mag and 7 X 57

What equipment should I be looking for? Thinking of loading 45 Super and 460 Roland brass (reduced loads).

Has anyone bought a Dillon press from J & R Sports in Livermore, how did that go?

I know something like this has been asked before; can you aim me at some good posts?

    Many Thanks K.T.

I am extremely happy with my 550B press. I believe it is the best compromise between producing relatively high volumes of handgun ammo, easy caliber conversions (including primer size changes, very quick), simplicity of setup and operation which translates into a minimum of glitches and snags. I have never been disappointed with anything Dillon I have purchased. I cannot say that about any other vendor.

There are less expensive options for getting started in reloading, but Dillon stuff holds its value so well, if you change your mind and decide to give up reloading, you will likely lose less on a Dillon setup than other options. Typical rich get richer kind of thing.

On J&R, I have not bought anything reloading related from them, but all other transactions have been very positive. I think I would rate them among the top of local Bay Area gun stores.

    Good luck, have fun.
