    Got the LNL working great...

    But,

It feels like the cases are sticking in the dies on the up stroke. This only happens when all stations have a case. If I were to just run 1 or 2 cases through each station, there is no sticking.

I am not currently using a sizer/decapper die because I have lots of prepared cases from using the single stage.

    Station 1 Expander die
    Station 2 Powder drop
    Station 3 Powder cop
    Station 4 Bullet seater
    Station 5 Factor crimp.

All of the dies are Lee

I don't know if this is also a symptom, but the machine seems to be out of time by a little bit. I have to move the shell plate slightly clockwise on occasion so it will go into the proper station.

On a positive note, I am making about 400 rounds an hour. I knwo it will slow down when I have to size/deprime and prime, but it is still way faster than a single stage.

You need to adjust the pawls. It should click on the upstroke before the case enters the dies. You can advance the timing by unscrewing the right pawl slightly, 1/8 turn at a time.

I've had quite a few issues with the timing on my LNL, and it recently broke, see my thread a few posts below this

Did you recently buy this press from Cabelas? It seems quite a few people are having problems with the recent lot of presses Hornady shipped to them around christmas, including myself. I'm hoping a new drive spindle will fix this.

Are you loading 45ACP? You might have the wrong shell plate as well, make sure you have #45, not #1, the boxes for both claim they work for 45ACP, but only #45 works correctly.

@Bert - I also use the LNL AP and don't notice the die sticking issue you're experiencing. Are you able to isolate which die is sticking?

I had to make a minor adjustment to the left prawl to get the indexing just right if I recall correctly - needed to move the shell plate a touch more clockwisem like you say. Instructions are provided on how to do this, fairly straightforward operation. A little turn with the allen wrench is all you'll probably need.

@mud99 - I've asked you on the other forum, what is the serial number of your press? I'm in that category of having gotten a bad one in December from Cabela's, and was the one that immediately returned it to them for a replacement. The new unit serial number is 36332 and it is running like a top for 9m and 45ACP.

One should also note that others with the issue you had bought presses from places other than Cabela's, so it wasn't an issue with just their inventory.

Hmm, I'm using shell holder #1 for .45ACP and its working fine. Had to use it after someone said it was ok due to the shortage of 45 shell plates. I've loaded about 800 rounds of 45 on it so far.

I have LnL AP #437 Although it has been professionally timed and updated to LnL AP's current configuration at Hornady.

Can you provide more info on how to determine if I am in the category as well? Did you just call them and have it replaced due to your serial number? I had to have my first single stage replaced as well...

I tried to isolate which one is sticking, but none stick when only 1 case is cycled through. It is only when the whole thing is full that it sticks. I thought it was strange since I am not using the sizer die, and that is the one that should stick.

I am for sure using the .45 shell plate. Stamped right on it.

Will try adjusting the prawl tomorrow or Sunday.

Remove the drive hub from the center of the ram by taking off the two screws on the left and right of the ram.

I bet the drive hub is bent or cracked and about to fail, causing the press to bind, just like mine.

I will check the sn# when I get home and post it.

This may sound weird, but you might want to check the powder measure link arms. I was having a similar problem and couldnt figure out which die was binding, then i realized its the linkage on the powder measure, and it only had problems with a full shellplate

No clue. I will have to look for it.
