I think Dillon only sells the Carbide Dies, which are more expensive.
I use RCBS dies in my Dillon for .38. No Problems.Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

I have used Dillon, RCBS and Lee dies in my 550B with no ill effects.
I do have to say I like Dillon dies best. Their little improvements like the spring loaded decap (spent primer rocket thruster), the reversible seating stem (for round nose vs. flat nose), being able to remove the seating stem without removing the die (for cleaning), etc. really set them apart.
I know it gets on people's nerves to constantly hear it, but Dillon stuff is usually (not always) a little better thought out. When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."Comment

thanks for the info....i didnt even think about the spring loaded decaper i was actually likeing the seperate seating and crimp die. i guess i will see the rcbs dies work out but the 550 came with 223 dillon dies and i got the rcbs from a fellow calgunner so once i get everything setup i will see the differance.Comment

Iuse Lee for some stuff and like them, once I got them set up.
I use Dillon and like them alot and their customer service is amazing I wish every company was like them.
I broke the decapping pin in my 9x25 sizing die and when it broke it jammed in the brass cap that holds it in so badly I could not salvage it.
Called dillon asked for a new brass piece and ordered new decapping pins three days before Christmas, imagine my suprise when I got the new stuff on the 24th. To add to it they sent me a bunch of the brass caps and a whole new decapping assembly for free.Last edited by Paper Boy; 01-26-2012, 2:18 PM.Comment

They will work but I hate RCBS dies. What caliber are you loading? I would recommend buying the Dillon dies when you get the chance. If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.
