I loaded about 15,000 rounds on a Lee Classic Turret in a year period. I have since moved on to a progressive, but I think the Lee Classic Turret is one of the best values in mid-range reloading equipment.

I averaged about 150 rounds an hour, but that is all in, setup, weighing the charges before and after the run (the Lee Auto Disk Pro powder drop is very accurate and repeatable), chamber checks, put away. Many guys claim 200+ rounds an hour easily.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Lee Classic Cast Turret. Get extra turret plates and powder drops and caliber changes take about 30 seconds.

If you end up going this way and decide to buy new, this guy has the best prices on Lee gear: https://factorysales.com/html/company.html

I started on the RCBS partner press too. Great product, just not very fast.

I've since moved to a Dillion 550B and am very happy with the decision.
I use an RCBS RockChucker for resizing rifle brass and swaging crimped military primer pockets, but use the Dillon for everything else.

Expensive? Yes. I just had to save for a while.
      Very worth it.

I love my Lee Classic Turret press. For the money, you seriously cant go wrong. With the Lee Auto Disk Pro powder drop and the Safety Prime system you'll be cranking them out.

my lee turret has been making some nice pistol ammo - really could not have asked for a better setup for the price.

+1 on this. I've purchase some items from factorysales and they were great to do business with.

Can't go wrong with a LCT press. Great value for the money, like so many of Lee's products.

Thanks much for that! I've recently been looking at different presses (just single stage) and had been leaning towards Redding's Boss. That Lee Classic Turret Press is such a good deal I may change my mind. Only planning on low volume hand loads for rifle, but that press might come in handy down the road when I get hooked on reloading....

I have a Dillon, but if you want a lot for the money (value), Lee's are terrific. You'll never wonder if you overspent.

The Lee Classic Turret is a great press and I don't think you've found many 'mixed' reviews for this one. You already have all your dies and other equipment for the calibers you load, so all you need is a press and spare shell plates. The Factory Sales site is the way to go if they have this specific 4 station press in stock. If not, then fmreloading.com is your ticket.

HUH? Where are you seeing the mixed reviews? They get badmouthed by the Dillon fanboiz but some of those will badmouth anything that's not painted blue.

There ARE two different Lee turrets. You want the Lee CLASSIC Turret. Cast iron & much more robust. The other one gets some bad reviews here & there.

They do take a bit of tweeking at first but it's not rocket surgery. The accessories are plastic & a bit cheesy but they work and they work well.

Mine's been cranking out thousands of pistol rounds for just about 3 years now & going strong. I've replaced a $.50 plastic part. Lee customer service is great.

And it can easily be made a single stage if you want to run it that way.

EDIT: My biggest beef is with the 9mm shell holder. "Piece of crap. It doesn't work!" [/napoleandynamite]

I have had Lee, RCBS, Lyman, Dillon, and a few others. If the choices are Lee, RCBS, or Lyman I would go with the Lee. The lee turret may be on the cheaper end but it isnt a bad press. Get it set up right and it will load fine.

I have had the worst luck with RCBS and Lyman

Lee is good for the money and when you can afford it get a Dillon.
