Manteca Walmart has ammo and are still selling.
The Clerk I spoke with today said that the FUD may have came from a manager talking about scanning CDL's like Target does for Cough Syrup.

"DOJ wants"? Wouldn't that require a law to force what "DOJ wants"?

          Citrus Heights (NorCal)

I took a quick look and the shelves were unusually loaded with ready to sell ammo. My guess would be something local to down there or perhaps they got caught selling to 'under aged' persons.

No Ammo sales at Santee, went there yesterday 1/28. They had a similar sign as above.

I was also at Walmart in Santee on Saturday and talked to the manager. He said that they are still going to be selling ammo but a select few employees need LiveScan training to sell ammo. He also said they will be expanding the ammo section in preparation to start selling long guns. They won't be able to regularly sell ammo for a couple weeks.

Also for those of you that shop at the Santee Walmart, I can't remember his name but one of the managers is already LiveScan certified. He is a taller Hispanic guy with short black hair. He sold me a case of Fed 9mm on Saturday.

I have talked with a couple of local WalMart employees when I buy. Several have told me there are only 1 or 2 people in their stores who can sell due to their training and other requirements. One told me the store manager could not even sell ammo. I do not have details on what they require.

Went into the local Elk Grove Wal-Mart (I think its the only one in Elk Grove...) and I was able to purchase ammunition. No issue, no sign.

I Know it is off topic but I wish other large stores wold sell ammo at or below what walmart does, like costco or someone. I bet they would come out with a kirkland brand ammo.

Poohway Walmart had no ammo on the shelves. Worker told me it was a licensing issue, which could mean anything.

Hmmmm.... San Marcos Turners today wasn't selling powder. More "license issues." And haven't had a primer delivery in several weeks...

Do you suppose if they are updating their FFL status to again sell long guns in CA, it might explain the interrupted ammo sales?

Is there any requirement for an employee of a non-FFL to have a COE to sell ammo?

What about an employee of a FFL? I know that at the local Big 5, there are only about 3 employees that ever work the firearms counter and they always walk ammo purchases to the cashier.
