American Eagla AR .223 Ammo

Does anybody know if it is safe to shoot this Ammo out of a bolt action .223? I bought a few boxes and then noticed it says.. " mil spec primer, for best performance use in AR style firearms.. Thanks for any help..

I've shot American Eagle out of my Winchester "Varmint" rifle before with no issues. In addition I don't remember anything on the box saying that statement unless EA repackaged their boxes? Otherwise I see no reason it won't shoot because it says "mil-spec" primers.

Thanks.. The boxes im talking about come with 20 rounds and say AR .223 and on the back says for best performance use in AR style firearms..

Of course they did, .223 is .223

The mil spec primer is just a tad harder cup to prevent a possible slam fire for AR based rifles. You are good to go to use in bolt actions.
