I picked up a 30 year old Lyman press kit just like yours awhile back. I set it up and never used it more than checking it out since I have a LEE classic turret. I was very impressed at how solid and well made the press was. If I would not have had my LEE classic turret press I would have definately kept it and would still be using it to day.

Hah! I'm glad someone noticed. I was debating on whether to put YouTube or CalGuns up as the background and I ended up thinking YouTube was more appropriate since the video was going to go up on there. Silly I know, but I like to put little things like that in the videos hoping that someone will see it and point it out. You win the prize!

It really is solid. I don't have much experience with other presses to compare to, but my first impression was that this thing was built to last. Not to mention that I'm sure my dad got it before I was born and it's been in the garage since.

Nicely done! After toying with turret presses and single stages i found myself to be faster and more consistent when i just do one process at a time in large batches. I also found that hand priming is infinately faster

Thanks for sharing. I once loaded on an RCBS Rockchucker and then added the piggyback conversion. When I started shooting USPSA I switched to Dillon 550's. And when I started shooting 1000+ rounds of 40 S&W/Month I swithced to Dillon 650's then to Dillon 1050's. I don't shoot much anymore so I'm back to the Dillon 650's

Enjoy your loading. 40 S&W is a great round. Try some Hodgdon Titegroup and Universal Clays powder or some Vihtavouri N320. You'll get more rounds per pound of powder

I've given those powders a little thought. My main reason for reloading though, was to create the "perfect" (in my head) load for 40S&W which is 180gr bullet at 1000fps. After looking at all the different powders, Longshot's numbers looked to be right for what I wanted so that's why I picked it. I'll check out the numbers on the others though.

I like Longshot, it takes a bit more but also fills the case more, which is a good thing. Double chargers are easier to identify.

Good job on starting off slow and working your way up on how many rounds you crank out. Better to stay safe and not have any problems, keep up the good work.
