    I used some left over synthetic motor oil and it made the operation alot smooth .

      I have heard that you might want to keep that oil away from the primers. Everything I have read on the subject says motor oil lubes are not ideal candidates for case lube.

      I think most of the commercial case lubes are wax/lanolin based so they won't contaminate the primers.

          Make sure you lube your press's moving parts a little too. Makes things a little easier.

            i too notice its hard i rub about 20 cases with a candle and use one when it gets rough normally 10-40 depending how clean my cases are from the tumbler

              Use Hornady one-shot spray lube for pistol cases, non-toxic, won't hurt primers and powder, no need to tumble it off afterwards. Win, win, win!!!

              Motor oil works as a case lube but is not advised for ammo reliability reasons because it can contaminate the powder or primer if you get it inside the cases.
