First ammo purchase

Hey All,

So I am just finishing getting all my parts for my first ar-15. Everything has arrived and I am currently on the waiting period for the lower. I asked a friend of mine who has been shooting for a while about what ammo to get and he recommended this:

I trust his judgement but just wanted to get some opinions and also I had a concern if I can use it at the Angeles range. Their rules state:

"We no longer allow the use of steel core, steel or bi-metal jacketed ammo.."

The bullet is lead core but just want to verify with anyone here if it meets all qualifications.

Also, if you guys recommend something else over this, I'd be happy to learn (big ammo noob)

If it matters, my gun is a stag arms with a 1/9 twist barrel.

They are lead core, but they have a steel penetrator tip. Ive always stayed away from those so i dont remember if they attract a magnet or not but im fairly confident they do. Angeles wont let you shoot it there. For that price though you might as well buy 55 grain PMC for $269

that is of course if your not married to the idea of shooting 62 grainers

I've only gone rifle shooting once. But, I'm pretty sure that's the ammo we used at Angeles.
