    .300 ackley

So the long of the short is my great grandfather built my grandpa a beautiful rifle in 1962 out of birdseye birch and some day it will be mine. I finally had time today to sit down with him and pull out the ammo for it.
I have always known it was a wildcat round, but I noticed today on one of the boxes my great grandfather had loaded, he had written .300 ackley.
does any one have the specs for .300 ackley so I can measure one of the rounds when I get home?
if it is actually .300 Ackley can I find dies to make rounds myself?
I noticed that most of the cases said .338 magnum, but several said .300 h & h on the headstamp(its definitely not .300 h & h, since these rounds have sharp shoulders)
Any other info would be helpful.
