Seeking bulk pack .223 bullets

Just went to my first gun show in years (here in O.C.) only to find one vendor selling powder and none selling bulk bullets. Specifically I want 55gr bt. I won't be reloading a high volume (perhaps 200-400) of rounds, so I'll buy the powder locally, but I would like to get some bulk pack bullets like I used to. I had always bought them in a plain brown box of 500. Anyone know where I can get them these days and how much? Please don't tell me they're dried up too due to the needs of the military.

Montana Gold now sells .223 rem bullets. Packs of 500, 1000, or I think like 4000 in a case if you like. Not sure on price, but if you are looking for lots of bullets, there is a good source not influenced by the US Mil so much.

The way I'm reading their web page it says its $218 per 3500 projectiles. That sounds pretty good to me.

Montana gold is the way to go. I ordered 3500 bullets from them on Friday and they arrived on Monday. They are also extremely consistent for bulk bullets, I weighed 20 bullets and they varied 1/10 of a grain.

Since I've been going through my .223 plinking loads, I recently bought 2000 Hornady 55gr FMJ w/c for about $100. Yes indeed, times have changed.

I bought 6k pulled 223 55 fmj's last year some time when I heard that they would soon be in short supply.. I still have them but am ramping up to start loading them soon..

Tell me about it. My last run over there was to pick up 10K of 9mm for $30 per K!!! I dread buying even components nowadays.
